Roma captain Francesco Totti admits the reception he received from the Real Madrid crowd on Tuesday night is something that will stay with him for a while.
Totti was applauded onto the pitch as a second half substitute and though Roma were unable to overturn their first leg deficit, Il Capitano said the evening is one he won’t forget.
“It’s a huge thrill, a wonderful memory for me,” AS quotes Totti as telling Mediaset, the forward having come close to joining Madrid earlier in his career.
“This is an incredible stadium. Madrid is my only regret.
“We missed a few things [in the match]. I want to enjoy this moment and then we’ll see.”
