Dunga ‘prefers Neymar for Olympics’

Brazil Coach Dunga has said if he has to choose, he would prefer to have Barcelona forward Neymar playing at the Olympic Games, not the Copa America.

The Copa America centenary tournament is to be held this summer as well as the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and Dunga, who was at Santiago Bernabeu to see Real Madrid beat Roma before travelling to Barcelona to meet with Neymar and Luis Enrique, values one over the other.

“If we can have Neymar, perfect. Let’s talk between Barca, Neymar and the national team and see what is best for all three,” he said, AS reports.

“We know the importance of a medal at the Olympics in Rio. Brazil doesn’t have gold and it’s being played at home. The answer would be the Games.

“Neymar is coming off a gruelling season. If he only plays the Games he has time to recover not only physically but also mentally. I wish I could have him for both tournaments.”

The Copa America will be held in the United States between June 3 and June 26, with the Olympics in Rio beginning August 5 and ending August 21.
