Eusebio Sacristan acknowledged the difficulty of playing Atletico Madrid but revealed Real Sociedad’s game plan.
La Real travel to Vicente Calderon for the midweek round of games and while Eusebio says the aim is to win, he noted how difficult an opponent Los Colchoneros can be.
“Our goal is to take points in every game, to move up and feel stronger, and the Calderon is a good opportunity to grow and improve,” he told a pre-match Press conference, AS reports.
“That’s because our potential makes us believe we can aspire to anything.
“We’ll try to hurt them by doing everything right, trying to minimise all the virtues they have. They’re a difficult team to counter-attack because they close the spaces well.
“We’ll minimise all their virtues, of which there are many, and exploit what we do well, and, if we do that, we’ll have a lot of possibilities.”
Eusebio did though comment on arguably the Atletico danger man, former La Real player Antoine Griezmann.
“I don’t know him well. I knew the quality he had at La Real and I’ve been told about his mind-set since I arrived here,” Eusebio continued.
“That’s very important with his quality, and allows him to continue to grow and overcome challenges because he’s a young player.”
