Reports in Spain say Barcelona have made contact with Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega about a summer move to Camp Nou.
AS cites Seville-based El Desmarque as the source of the story, pointing out the publication has good contacts at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Banega’s deal at Nervion expires on June 30 and it’s believed La Blaugrana have explored the option of taking the Argentine.
Serie A side Inter have also been linked with Banega and Sevilla are still keen to tie down the playmaker to a new contract, but Luis Enrique is said to be a fan and it is felt Banega’s style of play would suit Barca’s.
Barca are said to have been in touch with Banega’s representatives over making the switch to Catalonia, with El Desmarque adding that Lionel Messi has backed the proposed signing as he and Banega are good friends from the Argentina national team.
Sevilla President Jose Castro has though said Los Rojiblancos remain in talks with Banega.
