Oblak clause set at €100m

Jan Oblak’s new Atletico Madrid contract sees the goalkeeper’s transfer clause set at €100m to ward off interest parties.

Oblak on Tuesday signed the deal to 2021 and AS reveals the terms of the agreement double his clause from €50m by way of sending a message to potential suitors.

AS note that Manchester United asked about Oblak last summer when it appeared David De Gea was going to Real Madrid and, with that in mind, Atletico were keen to increase his price tag.

By putting his clause at such a high level they have effectively declared the Slovenian ‘not for sale,’ AS says, in the manner they did when putting Antoine Griezmann on a contract with a clause at the same level.
