Javi Gracia was delighted Malaga “ended our slump against great opponents” after they defeated Eibar 2-1 in La Liga on Saturday.
Goals from Juanpi and Roque Santa Cruz condemned the Basques to only their second home loss of the season, despite Borja Baston’s late consolation, and ended Los Boquerones’ run of back-to-back reverses.
“We’ve ended our slump against great opponents,” he said after the game.
“We have to value [this result] in the way it deserves [to be value].
“Eibar have been at a very high level this season, so we had to complete fully like we did or have no chance.
“[On Chory Castro’s injury], it seems to be something muscular.
“The victory was expensive for the injury and losing [Raul Albentosa to a one-game ban for five yellow cards] in our next League game.”
