Madrid close in on record kit deal?

Real Madrid and Adidas are reportedly on the verge of agreeing the most lucrative kit deal in history, which could see the club pocket €1.4bn.

According to Marca, Los Blancos could receive as much as €140m a season over a 10-year period from the German manufacturer as of 2020, providing they meet the necessary clauses.

The deal would topple Manchester United’s by some 40 percent, the English giants having brokered a decade-long partnership worth £750m (€988m) in the summer of 2014, and Bayern Munich’s, despite the Bundesliga giants putting pen to paper for the next 15 years.

Despite last season’s failure to win a major trophy and the recent turbulence of Rafa Benitez’s reign, the publication claims La Decima still lives fresh in the memory, while the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale continue to sell shirts.
