Madrid to offer James new deal?

Real Madrid will reportedly look to smooth over any discontent held by James Rodriguez with a new contract.

Fichajes.net cites reports from Calcio Mercato that say the Colombia international will be offered ‘very favourable’ terms.

James is understood to be unhappy at Santiago Bernabeu after falling out with Coach Rafa Benitez, and is also of the opinion that the club’s hierarchy don’t value him fully.

But Madrid want to show the latter isn’t the case with a new deal that would take James to €9m-a-year, among the highest-paid players at any club in the world.

Paris Saint-Germain had been looking into James’ unrest and were weighing up a January offer for the former Monaco midfielder, and that combined with his clear unhappiness has spurred Madrid into action.
