Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has refused to close the door on Real Madrid after admitting “it’s not an easy situation for me”.
Lewandowki was interviewed by AS after Bayern’s 1-0 victory over Darmstadt in the German Cup on Tuesday, and he was immediately quizzed on whether his club’s fans should be concerned by recent speculation linking him with Los Blancos.
“Every year this speculation arises and I don’t always react,” he said.
“I only care about football. It’s not an easy situation for me, so I prefer not to say anything.”
The newspaper spotted Lewandowski’s agent in the Santiago Bernabeu’s VIP box against Getafe on December 5, prompting Bayern President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to respond that the Pole had three years remaining on his contract.
However, AS claims the former Borussia Dortmund star now faces a dilemma as he must consider his options over the next six months.
