Barcelona are reportedly closing in on the January signing of Fluminense attacker Robert.
According to Sport, the 19-year-old – regarded as one of the Brazil’s brightest prospects – will join La Blaugrana as a youth player but train with the first team.
Although predominately an attacking midfielder, he can play as a centre forward and is noted for his strength and ability to create chances.
Barca scout Urbano Ortega recently moved to Brazil to directly follow and speak to both Robert, who has been called up to the national team once, and his club.
The player will reportedly arrive on loan with the view to a permanent transfer for around €7m as the Catalans accelerated their approach to fend off late interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.
