Illarra ‘noticing’ La Real improvement

Asier Illarramendi insists he has noticed an “improvement” in Real Sociedad’s game under Eusebio Sacristan after Fridays 1-1 draw with Getafe.

Imanol Agirretxe’s 12th goal of the season at Coliseum Alfonso Perez earned Eusebio seven points out of a possible 12, and the midfielder admits he is enjoying his football more than he did under David Moyes.

“We wanted it more, we went behind but equalised, sought the equaliser but didn’t get it. It’s a shame,” he said after the game.

“I’ve noticed that the team are getting better and better, and little by little we’re playing better.

“We’re feeling good and assimilating the ideas of the new Coach.

“We all try to enjoy ourselves. Sometimes we’ll suffer because you can’t always have the ball, that is what he likes this team, and need to work, something happened to us this day, and we solve it well.

“Physically I’m fine and I'm enjoying my football. I just try to do my best.

“With the new Coach, I see the ball more and I feel comfortable with them.

“I hope to go further with the team because I’m sure we can do better.

“We can turn the [Copa tie with Las Palmas] around. We’ll be at home and we’ve won our last two games here under Eusebio.

“We also scored in Las Palmas and that’ll be useful and something which could end up being key.

“It’s important that we progress in the cup so we can excite the fans, plus win our remaining matches in the League before the Christmas break so we can start looking up [the table].”
