Eusebio happy with La Real, but…

Eusebio Sacristan is happy with his start as Real Sociedad Coach but feels the team has plenty of areas in which it can improve.

The former Barcelona B trainer replaced David Moyes on the Anoeta bench in November and has spoken to the Press ahead of Friday’s fixture against Getafe, a team of whom Eusebio is wary.

“They’re a confident team with a clear idea of the game. Everyone is committed to defence and the attack is complicated,” he said, AS reports.

“Our idea is to keep working on the same line, whether we’re home or away. Now we work on settling concepts for the nuances of the rival, because Fran Escriba’s team is very convinced about what they do.”

La Real have relied on the goals of Imanol Agirretxe so far this season, a situation Eusebio is both not concerned by and expecting to change in time.

“The team is the important thing but Agirretxe is giving his best. And others are helping so he can maintain his streak,” Eusebio pointed out.

“We’ll work to continue in that spirit. I don’t care if there’s one player who scores almost all the goals, because little by little I’m sure others will join in.”

Eusebio also used the Press conference to discuss transfers, and commended Carlos Vela for his performances even as he is linked with MLS’ Colorado Rapids.

“I see every day Vela has positive feelings, in his spirit and desire to be better every day. “He knows his best is yet to come,” he continued.

“In January there is the possibility someone might leave if they don’t think they’ll have minutes. For the moment I prefer to wait. Let’s find the best solution for everyone.

“I haven’t thought about the possibility someone might join, with the squad I’ve got. I have very good players. This squad is a luxury.”
