Barcelona have moved to quash any suggestions Lionel Messi suffered an injury in the Champions League draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
Messi scored the game’s opening goal but was later seen to be struggling with an injury to his right leg, around the hamstring, and coming shortly after the forward returned from a knee problem, Sport notes there was concern he had suffered a further setback.
But the Catalan publication clarifies that Barca insist Messi was reacting to the fatigue of the match and didn’t suffer any injury.
The report adds that Messi is in ‘perfect condition’ after the match and will be ready to play Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, a game to be missed by Neymar, who has a groin problem.
