Benzema thankful for Madrid support

Karim Benzema thanked Real Madrid for the club’s support through a difficult time and was delighted to see the team click and thrash Malmo.

Benzema scored a hat-trick and Cristiano Ronaldo claimed four of the eight goals against the Swede, with Benzema speaking to the Press after the match but declining to discuss the Mathieu Valbuena situation.

“I will only talk about football. Let’s talk about the game,” he requested, Marca reports.

“It was a great night. A lot of goals and a great game for everyone. A lot of goals, three for me, four for Cristiano, the team is good. We’ll continue like this.

“I needed these goals, strikers always do, they’re important. But not only that, the affection of the fans, the President, my teammates, the Coach too.

“My teammates have congratulated me. The President is important as well. I’ve a lot of respect for him. I’m happy at the club because they have supported me. I play for my family and don’t care about the rest.”
