Unai Emery is happy Sevilla now have the Europa League to look forward to and not the Champions League disappointment to regret.
Los Rojiblancos took third place by beating Juventus at the same time Borussia Monchengladbach lost to Manchester City, Fernando Llorente scoring the decisive goal against his former team.
“We no longer have the disappointment of going out of the Champions League. We have the excitement of the Europa League, where the team is comfortable,” the Coach of the consecutive winners said.
“The group has brought us to what could have been expected. We beat Juve in a game of suffering. It’s a day to be happy. The crowd knew it was a game to suffer.
“We all wanted to go to the second round but we had to be realistic. We could do better, for sure. If it’s because City and Juventus are strong and we’re not, everyone has an opinion.”
