Debuting Real Sociedad boss Eusebio Sacristan hailed his side for a “very good” performance during Saturday’s 2-0 win against Sevilla in La Liga.
Goals from Imanol Agirretxe and Xabi Prieto earned the Basques their first home win of the season and the Coach a victorious start to his reign in San Sebastian.
“I’m very happy because it was a very good performance from us,” he said after the game.
“We displayed good sensations and [this performance] is the way forward for us.
“You start a game with a new Coach and different nuances to your game against quality opponents, and it allows you to best assess what you worked on during the international break. It’s something that I’m pleased about.
“There will be opportunities for everyone. I’m looking for competition because it will only benefit the team.
“I must also thank the fans for their enthusiasm and realism, even on a day of bad weather before the Clasico.”
