Sergio Busquets hailed his Barcelona teammates for “making history” during their 4-0 drubbing of Real Madrid in the Clasico on Saturday.
La Blaugrana condemned the capital giants to their third-heaviest Clasico defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the midfielder was delighted to be part of the squad which played their way into folklore.
“It’s not easy to play here, but we’ve made history and I’ve been able to experience it firsthand,” he said after the game.
“We’re closer [than the score suggests], but I’d say that in recent years we’ve accomplished much more than them.
“[Lionel Messi coming on] was good for him and the team. We need him.
“Clearly I’m in a good run of form, but hopefully my best is yet to come.
“I’m young, I’m 27 years and I still have room for improvement.”
