Neymar says his acclaimed second goal in Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Villarreal on Sunday was no fluke.
The Brazilian, with his back to goal in the box, performed a ‘sombrero’ flick over his marker and smashed a first-time volley past Alphonse Areola, but he maintains he “pictured” the move prior to taking it on.
“I pictured the move [for my goal] beforehand,” he told Canal+ after the game.
“[On card-happy referee Carlos Clos Gomez], the referee lost control of the game and made tempers run a little higher than usual.
“We couldn’t say anything or answer him back. Whenever we opened our mouths, it was a yellow card.”
