Barcelona forward Neymar has admitted that he finds the Clasico against Real Madrid to be “quieter” than Brazilian rivalries.
The two heavyweights of Spanish football will lock horns for the first time this season on November 22, but the attacker is unfazed by the media frenzy surrounding the match, claiming it to be no different than back home.
“I’ve watched bits [of football on TV],” he told BeIN Sports.
“I don’t like watching games on TV. When I’m at home with friends, I’ll watch it for a while and then stop.
“It’s not because Madrid are playing. It was the same with Santos. [I’ll only watch games] if it’s a final or a very important game.
“[On scoring in his first Clasico], I was a bit lucky because my finish took two deflections.
“It was very special because my family were in the stands and my friends went crazy.
“Before coming here, I experienced Clasicos in Brazil and it was all the same [regarding the media frenzy]. It’s quieter in Spain.
“[On the Ballon d’Or], at the moment it’s only between Leo [Messi] and Cristiano [Ronaldo], who are from another planet.
“I’m only concerned about winning trophies and helping my teammates.
“My first year [at Barca] was a learning curve, my second was better and I already feel more at home in my third.
“I hope [Messi, Luis Suarez and I] can be at our best for many years to come.”
