Mina ‘happy with Valencia choice’

Santi Mina still feels he made the right choice in leaving Celta Vigo for Valencia over the summer.

Mina came through the youth set-up at Balaidos before leaving for Mestalla in a deal reported to be worth around €10m, and ahead of his first return to Vigo, insists he isn’t having second thoughts.

“I’m very happy with the decision to come to Valencia, a great club and one that is giving me this opportunity,” he said, Super Deporte reports.

“So I work every day to repay the confidence they have shown in me.”

Mina added that one of the biggest plusses is the chance to play in the Champions League, with the trip to Gent in mind.

“It’s important to get minutes in the Champions League. It’s a dream at 19 to be enjoying this competition,” he continued.

“It would be very nice to get my debut with Valencia in the Champions League, it’s the dream of every youngster.”
