Rafa Benitez is confident his best at Real Madrid “is yet to come” ahead of Tuesday's Champions League encounter with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Coach has led Los Blancos to nine wins and four draws in 13 competitive games this season since taking charge in June, but he hopes his positive start to life back at the club will not prove to be a false dawn.
“I hope my best at Madrid is yet to come,” he said at a Press conference.
“We're doing well, but we can still improve. The most important thing is doing well at the end of the season.
“When all my players are fit, it's up to me to explain who's playing and who isn't, but football is about what you have at any given time.
“[Raphael] Varane, for example, has a better chance of playing if Pepe and [Sergio] Ramos don't.
“Rotation offers us a high level of competition. I want to have a selection problem.
“You always have to grow in a team, but we're showing many of the things I've wanted to see.
“Still, it'd be worrying if I was satisfied at this stage of the season. There's room for improvement and that leaves me very calm.
“I think Madrid had a great game in Paris, but [PSG] have great potential on and off the pitch. Our focus must be on getting the three points.
“Some people have ideas and objectives which don't match those of Madrid, but now we must focus on PSG.
“It's difficult to say [where PSG are in the European game], but they're certainly among the best.
“They're a team who are growing year on year and, by signing [Angel] Di Maria, have gone a step further.
“I hope we don't see them at their best [on Tuesday], but we have the utmost respect for one of the best teams in Europe.”
