Atletico Madrid captain Gabi believes the team did whatever they could to beat Astana in the Champions League.
The tie in Kazakhstan ended in a goalless draw with chances few and far between but the skipper said after the final whistle that the results wasn’t for a lack of trying.
“We wanted to win here and secure qualification. We tried everything, but it was an important match for them,” he said, AS reports.
“We’re left feeling that we could have won. We had very few chances, we struggled to create, and that was the game.”
