Bayern Munich’s reported interest in Dani Carvajal could be due to the German club’s proposal of replacing Pep Guardiola with Carlo Ancelotti.
AS notes that Guardiola’s future in the Bundesliga is in the air as his contract expires in 2016 and he has offered no indication if he intends to sign a new one.
Bayern want to know by late November’s members’ meeting amid suspicions Guardiola has an agreement with Manchester City, who have a number of ex-Barcelona executives among their ranks.
Should Guardiola depart then Ancelotti, who left Madrid in summer 2015, would be the Coach to whom the Bavarians turn, although there have been no talks in that direction as yet.
But Ancelotti is a known admirer of Carvajal, having worked with him at Santiago Bernabeu and praised the right-back from the very start of his reign.
AS also suggests former Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos and Madrid’s Croatian playmaker Luka Modric fall into the same category.
