Ranieri ‘understands’ Vardy to Madrid

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he “understands” speculation linking Jamie Vardy with Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old has scored 10 Premier League goals for the Foxes since the start of the season, also joining a select few players to net eight on the bounce in the English top flight, but his boss insists he will not come in cheap if Los Blancos are serious about signing him.

“It is important he enjoys it here after that I can understand if he wants to go and find some great club. But he costs a lot,” he was quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury.

“If Real Madrid or some big names want to buy him, they have the money to buy him. But not many teams can buy him now.

“He is very happy here. We do not want to sell him. That is clear.”

Madrid also continue to be linked with Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia by the Italian Press.
