10 days out for Sergi

Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto isn’t expected to miss much more than a week after suffering an hamstring muscle injury against BATE Borisov.

Sergi had to be replaced early in the first half, Ivan Rakitic coming on to score both goals in a 2-0 win, and it was feared the cantera product’s injury would be another blow to Luis Enrique’s already depleted squad.

However, AS reports the midfielder is only expected to need seven days out and no more than 10, ruling him out of the weekend’s game against Eibar.

Sergi is also likely to miss the Copa del Rey game against Villanovense and might not be ready in time to play Getafe, but could return for that fixture.

Mundo Deportivo adds that Andres Iniesta could be called back to action to replace Sergi, even though the veteran is at the very earliest point it was thought he could return from a thigh injury suffered in late September.
