Karim Benzema didn’t feel Real Madrid played all that well against Shakhtar Donetsk despite the 4-0 victory.
Benzema scored the opening goal before Cristiano Ronaldo plundered a hat trick, while there’s concern over Gareth Bale, Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, who all departed with injuries.
“The best thing is the victory because in the first half we lacked pace, and I don’t know why,” Benzema said, AS reports.
“We lost control and made a lot of mistakes. It’s rare that three players get injured. It’s the points that are important.
“I’ve got confidence in myself but it’s the team winning that matters.
“Cristiano? He’s one of the best players in the world.
“We’ve got a lot of injured players, but we’ve got a good enough squad to fill these positions.”
