James out for 10 days

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez faces up to 10 days on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a thigh injury.

According to Los Blancos' official website, the No 10 picked up the tear to his left thigh during Colombia's match against Peru on Tuesday.

Although Madrid did not disclose a recovery time, James is now certain to miss Madrid's trip to Espanyol this weekend.

Jose Gonzalez, a medical specialist, told AS: “There are two types of muscle injuries, traumatic and metabolic.

“Traumatic [James' injury] are usually much milder and the recovery time is between a week or 10 days, as long as there's no accompanying hematoma.

“In this specific case, it seems that there's no hematoma. Therefore, I estimate that he has suffered a mild injury caused by a blow [to the muscle], and the vast majority of these cases are mild.”
