Andoni Zubizarreta pointed to the example set by Iker Casillas and Xavi Hernandez as a way to ease the row centred on Gerard Pique.
Pique has been jeered by sections of the Spain support with Sergio Ramos suggesting it’s a reaction to the comments the Barcelona man made about Real Madrid.
Zubi singled out the truce called by Xavi and Casillas at a time when the Barca-Madrid rivalry was at its worst as how the situation should be dealt with.
“Surely these things are solved as Xavi and Casillas did,” the former Barca sporting director said on Bein Sports, Marca reports.
“If the team wins with a last-minute Pique goal then surely everyone will be happy.”
