Rafa Benitez has refused to comment on Real Madrid's failed pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
The blame game has erupted over who was ultimately responsible for the breakdown of the Spaniard's move to the Santiago Bernabeu on transfer-deadline day, but the Coach has made it clear that he was not involved in any of the negotiations.
“I'm not making any comments [about De Gea]. I work for Real Madrid and only do so with the players I have,” he said at the UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum in Nyon on Friday.
“I think we should all remain calm and think, as I do, about our next match.”
Joining Benitez at the forum were former Madrid bosses Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.
