Asier Illarramendi will on Wednesday have a medical ahead of his move back to Real Sociedad from Real Madrid.
Marca reports Illarra has travelled to San Sebastian to undergo the procedure and on landing at Hondarribia airport, responded in monosyllabic terms to the questions of the waiting reporters.
Illarra said he was ‘happy’ to be going back to La Real and that he hadn’t spoken with any of his soon-to-be-teammates, but would do soon.
The transfer has yet to be confirmed by either club but Marca put the fee at €17m plus add-ons for a player who cost Madrid €32m two years ago.
