Eduardo Berizzo has claimed that he would take Nolito over “any Barcelona player” after playing down talk of the forward leaving Celta Vigo.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a return to Camp Nou as a replacement for Pedro Rodriguez, with Mundo Deportivo on Friday going as far as to say a four-year contract had been agreed and that Alen Halilovic would be heading the other way on loan.
“Nolito is fine and will play [against Boavista on Friday],” the Coach was quoted as saying by Marca.
“[His absence] has been due to fitness reasons. I’ve heard rumours about his absence which could not be further from reality.
“There’s been no interest from any other team [for Nolito].
“Everything that’s been said about his possible move to Barca doesn’t mean he deserves any special treatment.
“Between any Barca player and Nolito, I’d take Nolito, but we’re prepared [for his release clause being met].”
