Rafa Benitez declined to speak too much about David De Gea but did hint players are likely to leave Real Madrid in the near future.
Benitez was speaking prior to Madrid’s friendly against Milan and, after batting away Jose Mourinho’s barbed comments regarding his wife, was asked about the transfer market.
“I have a great team and I’m working every day. My objective is to get a performance from them and if we can improve, we will,” he said, AS reports.
“I’m focused on my players and improving them every day. I’ve said before, I’ve got a great team and I’m happy with them. I’m preparing for the final tour game, against Milan.
“When we get back to Madrid we’ll analyse our options. Now we’re just thinking about the group we have, which is very good.
“Pre-season has seen the players do very well and give 100%. We’ll wait until the next game to make assessments.
“I’m delighted with all of them but it’s true we have to make decisions. Out of respect we’ll wait until we’re back in Madrid to make those decisions.”
