Enrique happy with United workout

Luis Enrique drew positives from Barcelona’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday, claiming the match “served to improve our rhythm”.

Goals from Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj at Levi’s Stadium in California downed the Catalans, who hit the post on three occasions, saw a Luis Suarez effort chalked off for offside and pulled one back through Rafinha’s late volley.

“It was a good game. It served to improve our rhythm,” the Coach said after the match.

“Adriano [was replaced because he] took a knock and felt discomfort. Sergi Roberto [has proved that he] is a great option to have.

“[On Louis van Gaal comparing him to Rooney], I only have his haircut!

"I spent five minutes talking to Van Gaal and it was a pleasure. He’s one of the best Coaches I’ve ever had. I’m grateful [to have played under him].”
