Van Gaal expects to keep De Gea

Louis van Gaal says David de Gea will start in goal for Manchester United against Barcelona on Saturday and should remain a Red Devil come September 1.

Speaking ahead of his side's International Champions Cup friendly against La Blaugrana this weekend, the Dutchman also spoke of his admiration for opposite number Luis Enrique, whom he coached at Camp Nou between 1997 and 2000, and United's reported interest in Sergio Ramos and Pedro Rodriguez.

"I think David will be available to start the season against Spurs, but he'll [definitely] play against Barcelona on Saturday," he said at a Press conference.

"I have great memories [of Luis Enrique]. He always gave everything, much like [Wayne] Rooney, always with the same intensity and huge desire on the pitch.

"I've read a lot about the interest in [De Gea, Sergio Ramos and Pedro Rodriguez], but all that's been said isn't true.

"Silence is good for the good of all United's stakeholders. Sometimes I like to talk, but I can't right now."
