Liverpool have reportedly joined Manchester United as suitors for Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez, who could look to leave Camp Nou.
Mundo Deportivo reports the Reds, flushed with cash after selling Raheem Sterling to Manchester City, are in the market for a prestige replacement.
Pedro would fit the bill and his €30m escape clause is within the club’s reach after receiving some €69m [£49m] from City for Sterling.
It was said by AS that United were close to sealing Pedro’s signature and all that was missing was the player telling President Josep Maria Bartomeu that he wanted to leave.
Barca have however insisted that any club wishing to sign Pedro this summer would have to meet his buyout clause, as they’re not looking to sell.
