Victor Valdes has given an ironic response to criticism from Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils goalkeeper is set to be sold after being omitted from the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, with van Gaal revealing Valdes had ‘refused to play’ for the reserves.
“He doesn’t follow my philosophy. There is no place for someone like that,” the Dutch Coach explained.
However, 33-year-old Valdes has now taken to social media to aim what appears to be a clear response to van Gaal’s comments.
On his official Twitter account, the former Barcelona shot-stopper posted an image of himself with some of United’s youth team players, as well as highlighting the matches where he turned out for the Old Trafford side’s U21 team last season.
Accompanying the photo is one word: respect.
