Real Madrid have been named as ‘the most valuable sports team in the world’ for the third year running.
Despite failing to win a major trophy last season, Los Blancos retain their position as the number one global sporting institution. According to business magazine Forbes’ annual review, the Santiago Bernabeu club are worth €2.98bn.
Madrid’s La Liga rivals Barcelona meanwhile are in fourth place, with a value of €2.89bn. The only other football club to make the top ten are England’s Manchester United.
