New Barcelona signing Arda Turan says the prospect of playing alongside Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Neymar is a dream come true.

The Turkish international has completed a move to Camp Nou from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid and last night gave an interview to RAC1 to discuss his new team.

“It’s a dream for me to play with Messi, Iniesta or Neymar,” Turan said. “They are idols for me, they make up the best team in the world.”

Despite joining the Catalan giants, the 28-year-old will not be able to make his Barca debut until next January due to the club’s current transfer embargo. This is something he admits will be difficult.

“It will be difficult to be out of action for six months, but the important thing is that I will play for Barca.

“I will work until I can make my debut in January and I will help the team to win all the trophies.”

Turan also stated that he does not care which position Coach Luis Enrique deploys him in, nor the squad number he will eventually take.

“The important thing is that Luis Enrique wants me to play for Barcelona. The position, we will see.

“And which number? I don’t know which one I will take, it’s not very important.”

Finally, Turan revealed that he ‘needs’ to win the Champions League, having come so close to doing so with Atletico.

“Hopefully I can win it. I need it! I want to play for Barca, which is the best team in the world.”
