The mother of Sergio Ramos insists that her son wants to remain at Real Madrid, despite widespread reports to the contrary.
Numerous media outlets across England and Spain claim Ramos has told the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy that he wants to leave, with Manchester United already having had a £28.5 million bid for the defender turned down.
However, Antena 3 Deportes tracked down the mother of the 29-year-old yesterday evening, who was adamant as to where her son’s loyalties lie.
“Of course he would like to stay at the club,” Paqui Garcia said. “It’s Real Madrid before anyone else.”
She was then asked whether Ramos would consider a move abroad.
“No, I don’t think so. He loves Spain, he is Spanish.”
