‘Barca invincible with Pogba’

Arrigo Sacchi believes that Barcelona signing Juventus’ Paul Pogba would make the Blaugrana ‘virtually invincible.’

Talks between the two clubs are understood to be ongoing over the French international potentially joining the Catalan giants.

In an interview published by Mundo Deportivo, the former Milan, Italy and Atletico Madrid boss also compared Pogba to Barca legend Frank Rijkaard.

“He is a player who is improving but at 22 years old he is very interesting for any club,” Sacchi said. “He has everything to mark a generation. His potential is very big.

“He is like Frank Rijkaard, who I had at Milan, for his technique, for his strength and for his feel of the game.

“Like Frank, he is very powerful on the pitch. I think that Pogba also has great attacking capabilities.

“In Spain he would score even more goals. He is a player for all teams but playing for Barcelona would be easier for Pogba because of the style of football they play. Also, I don’t think Madrid want Pogba, although I haven’t spoken to Florentino Perez about that.

“If Barca have a great team now, they would be even more so. With the trio (Messi, Neymar and Suarez) and Pogba behind them, they would virtually be invincible.

“It’s clear that away from Juventus he can improve even more. That’s the best thing about Pogba, that his level can go up a lot.”
