A Manchester United source has confirmed David De Gea will be expected to report for pre-season training at the club next Monday.
Louis van Gaal’s side will begin preparations for the new season at their Carrington training base next week.
De Gea, however, is known to want a move to Los Blancos, who themselves have made no secret of their desire to sign the player, having already had a £15m bid for the goalkeeper rejected by United.
“Unless an agreement (with Real Madrid) is reached before the start of next week, which is unlikely, David will return to the club for pre-season, which is not ideal for all concerned,” the source revealed to Starsport.
The Spanish shot-stopper has recently rejected the offer of a new contract at Old Trafford, rumoured to be on wages of £200,000 a week.
