Sevilla out of Konoplyanka race

Sevilla sporting director Monchi has confirmed the club’s interest in Dnipro winger Yevhen Konplyanka is over.

Monchi was speaking at a Press conference to unveil Michael Krohn-Dehli, who has signed from Celta Vigo, but was asked about topics other than the Denmark international.

“The possibility of signing Konoplyanka hasn’t decreased, but we met the deadlines, so, as of today, we have forgotten about this signing and we’re working on other options,” he said, Marca reports.

“We met the deadlines and the player isn’t here, we haven’t reached an agreement.”

Monchi also confirmed Baba, Cicinho and Manu Del Moral have left Nervion, and touched on interest in Adil Rami and Ever Banega’s new contract.

“We’ll sit down with Banega after the Copa America, to try and extend his contract,” he added.

“Rami is an option we’re working on, but it’s not easy. He’s at a big club and has many suitors. We’re excited by the possibility but we won’t spend our whole lives on it. But he is an interesting option.”
