Otamendi hints at Valencia exit?

Nicolas Otamendi has hinted that he will leave Valencia this summer after defending recent comments made by his agent.

Eugenio Lopez remarked on May 25 that his client, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid, would do “everything he possibly can” to seek a move away from Mestalla and had informed the club of his wishes.

“All I have to say right now is that I’m enjoying being with the national team at Copa America, where I’m burdened with the responsibility of wearing this jersey,” the Argentina international told ESPN.

“I’ve spoken with my agent and Valencia know what I want. Therefore, every word my agent has said has obviously been with my permission and he has my full permission to talk to who he wants.

“For now, like I said, my head is only with the national team so I can perform at my best when I play. It’s a unique moment to savour.

“I spoke to the President and my agent and they know my desires very well, but for now I’ve told my agent that my head is [with Argentina] and left him to it.

“Right now, I’m enjoying each day alongside [Angel] Di Maria, [Marcos] Rojo, [Carlos] Tevez, [Lionel] Messi and the other players who are leaders here.”
