Van der Vaart: Betis is a dream

Rafael van der Vaart has spoken of his happiness at completing a move to Real Betis. “For me it is a dream.”

Van der Vaart has signed for the Primera new boys on a free transfer from Hamburg, agreeing what is reportedly a three-year deal.

The former Real Madrid midfielder explained his reasons for heading to Benito Vilamarin, and his goals during his time at the club.

“I’m very happy to come here. It’s a great club and I can’t want to get started. For me it’s a dream because my family lives in Chiclana, very close by, and I like Spanish football,” van der Vaart said, Marca reports.

“When I play I play to 100%. I want to win and score goals, and get assists. The stadium here is always full so I really want to win a lot of games.

“I have a lot of experience and that’s important. I have to play well and help my team a lot because football is the greatest job in the world.”
