Lionel Messi is ready to take on the Copa America, speaking of his desire to win a trophy with Argentina after a treble-winning season at Barcelona.
Messi captains his country at the tournament in Chile and has spoken at a Press conference in which he insisted he and Barca teammate Javier Mascherano are eager to get started.
“I’m feeling better for this Copa America than for the World Cup,” Messi said, Marca reports.
“It’s a dream to win a trophy with Argentina. This group deserves something. We were very down after the World Cup.
“Argentina are one of the favourites. There are great opponents and I know the Copa is more even than in recent times.
“Both myself and Mascherano are focused on the Copa America. We want a trophy with Argentina.”
