Casemiro ‘dying’ for Madrid chance

Casemiro has confessed that he is “dying” to be given a chance at Real Madrid after sealing his return from Porto.

The midfielder is currently on international duty with Brazil ahead of Copa America, which kicks off on June 11 but that has not stopped him from expressing his delight with Los Blancos’ decision to retain him for the coming season.

“I’m coming back and very happy to return to where I consider my home,” he told Marca.

“I thank both Madrid and Rafa Benitez for their confidence in me. I’m sure I won’t let them down.

“Real Madrid is a dream that I don’t want to end. I’m dying to be back playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I’m grateful to everyone at Porto, from [Coach] Julen Lopetegui to my teammates and the fans, whom I respect for the affection they gave me throughout the season.

“It’s been a good year and Porto will always have a place in my heart. Now my head is with the Brazil squad because I want to have a great Copa America with them.

“I want to touch down in Madrid as a champion with Brazil.”
