Barcelona forward Neymar says he is relishing “the big one” as he prepares to take part in the first Champions League final of his career on Saturday.
The Brazilian has spent the past week making it clear that the European decider against Juventus at Berlin’s Olympiastadion is the most important match of his life, and he could not help but reiterate that sentiment in front of the world’s media.
“[Gianluigi Buffon] is one of the best goalkeepers of all time,” he said at a Press conference.
“I used to control him on the PlayStation as a child and I’m a fan of his, but I’d be very happy if I could score against him [on Saturday].
“Of course I’ve dreamt of scoring a goal in the final, and hope to do so, but the most important thing is to win [the trophy].
“I’ve played in many finals, but this is the big one. It’s the biggest game of my life.
“I hope to enjoy it very much. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a child and I hope to make it happen.
“My dream is to win the Champions League and I hope to kiss the cup.
“Leo [Messi] and Luis [Suarez] are two great players and I think our relationship on and off the pitch is very important.
“I hope to finish the season with them happy after all the work we’ve done [throughout the season].
“[On his playing style], I’m still the same. Everyone knows how I play.”
