Chicharito unsure about future

Javier Hernandez has admitted that he does not know where his future lies after seeing his loan spell with Real Madrid come to an end.

The Mexican, who arrived from Manchester United last summer, found himself on the periphery of Los Blancos’ first team for most of the season, until he was afforded a string of starts throughout April and May, courtesy of an injury to Karim Benzema.

“Of course it’s in my mind because it's my future,” he told Reuters.

“I don’t know where I am going to stay, if it’s one of those teams [United or Madrid] or another teams, so right now I’m just enjoying my holidays.

“[Carlo] Ancelotti was my manager but Rafa [Benitez] is not. He doesn't need to speak with me because I was on loan from United.

“But I am very calm because thankfully the last two months for me in Real Madrid were very good and I proved a lot of things. So that gave me a lot of self-confidence and security for my future.

“I think Rafa knows me. He’s a really good manager and I think he’s going to do a great job in Madrid.”

Madrid have yet to take up option of making Chicharito’s loan permanent for a reported €10m, while the 27-year-old is understood to be surplus to United manager Louis van Gaal’s requirements.
