Josep Maria Bartomeu says he expects Dani Alves to sign a contract renewal with Barcelona in due course.
The right-back, whose deal expires on June 30, recently accused La Blaugrana of not showing him enough respect in previous negotiations, but the President insists his club have made the 32-year-old an offer that they feel is worthy.
“It’s a great and historic [Champions League] final. Juventus are very tough opponents who play good football, and I’m nervous but also very confident in the team,” he told BeIN Sports.
“I don’t see why [Luis Enrique] wouldn’t stay [with Barca] when he’s done an excellent job and has another year of his contract left.
“I don’t regret summoning the elections [this summer]. It’s a good time for the socios to have debates ahead of voting for the best [presidential] candidate in July.
“We’ve made Alves a respectful offer [of a renewal]. He knows [the offer] perfectly well, but it’s his decision.
“If you ask me, I’d tell him to sign it because it’s a good contract and I consider Barcelona the best club in the world.”
