Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is now “less than a step away” from completing a free transfer to Juventus, according to Marca.
The German has been heavily linked with the Old Lady in recent weeks, and the newspaper claims he will now undergo a medical in Turin after the club were satisfied with the initial set of results sent to them.
Juve are wary that Khedira suffered a serious knee injury last season and consequently want to ensure that he is in perfect condition before closing a deal, which could be confirmed as soon as this weekend.
The 27-year-old is being tipped to replace Andrea Pirlo, who is reportedly likely to seek pastures new in the coming months, despite having a year left on his contract.
